The project involved the construction of a CLAUS BURNER, a key element in thermal reaction processes such as gas incinerators and sulphur recovery units.

The customer required adequate product development capabilities and in particular the expertise in the pressure equipment construction and welding, following ASME VIII and ASME IX compliant standards.

The welding qualifications, according to the ASME XI directive, possessed by TECNOLAFER were integrated with the ASME VIII section, raising Tecnolafer’s know-how and welding processes skills. 

The burner successfully underwent all the tests foreseen by the inspection plan defined by the customer, starting with dimensional checks, leak tests and non-destructive checks on the weldings.

The production of the Claus Burner allowed TECNOLAFER to approach the pressure equipment market.
